I bought a set of these a year ago and should have bought them years ago. Mine didn't fit perfect, but the fit is comfortable even with full magnum loads.I'd love to get another set, but I'll have to sell the gun I want to put them on first.
I absolutely love this grip just enough grip when shooting and conceals nicely under my shirt. The only unfortunate I can say is that I slightly allergic to something in the wood, but that is no fault of the product or the company. I would highly recommend this grip!
This product is excellent, except for the fact that it is not offered in walnut (walnut is hard to get now and in some places, it may have become unobtainable - blame it on the Walnut Huskfly - related to the Mediterranean Fruitfly or Medfly). Anyway, the fit is extremely good and closer edge to edge (wood to metal) fitting is not necessary unless desired. I ended up NOT using it, however; the business that I work for had on consignment, two consecutively serial numbered Old Model Ruger Blackhawks ("Three-screw") that required the XR-3 grips. One grip and gripframe had been replaced with Super Blackhawk parts, the other left original with the prettiest burl walnut panels. This was done by the consignor's deceased father, and the son wanted to have the gun returned to original configuration before placing the pair in auction. I could have used the Eagle Grips product, but the guns would not have matched. I ended up finding one pair of original walnut grips somewhere online and stripping the stain that Ruger apparently used and re-varnishing the grips; the original wood of those grips had a closely matching burl grain to the other gun and so now they match well! The Eagle Grips product is absolutely excellent and I would recommend them for those who are in need of new grips for their old original three-screw XR-3 Blackhawks!
First I got the Desert Camo grips for my Ruger Bisley. Installed it on my left (#8) pistol. Fit was tight and perfect. I gotta do this for my right hand (#6) gun (R Vaquero has a lighter trigger spring and the sight has been "adsjusted" for distance pistol shooting). I called Eagle Grips and spoke to Roger. He advised he had a set of Ruger Bisley checkered grips in Bronze Goddess (not shown on website). I thought about it then said, "OK, send 'em". Worked out GREAT!! I am so pleased! The Bronze Goddess also installed tight and perfect. With both Rugers holstered, form any distance, the guns look like they have the same grips. But looking at them closely, I can easily discern the Desert Camo from the Bronze Goddess, my left from my right pistol. Ideal! The laser checkering prevents any movement of the pistol grips in my hands. That's the main reason for getting them, as recommended by Rusty Remmington, Non-Stop, and Eli Hawk. I can send photo of my 2 Rugers, if you'd like.
I bought these handgrips to offset the gun. My Kimber came with the normal Rosewood grips. I wanted something to make the gun pop. These grips were what I wanted. They are very well made and came polished so that there was not a scratch on them. They were easy to install and fit wonderfully.
The Colt 1911 was designed by JMB to be it's own tool box. The pistol can be COMPLETELY disassebled for cleaning and service using only parts within the pistol as tools. All that is required is the rim of a .45 ACP cartridge to unscrew the grips. These screws are exactly what you need on your pistol to do that. I have shopped around and this is a great price for 4 screws. I have seen this price at other sites for a single screw! They look great, and are high quality. Look no further, and start unlocking the full functionality of your Colt 1911.
These grips enhance my commander. They are deceptively grippy, almost like rosin. And, they are light. They look so good, you'd better have your 1911 game on to rock these. I've bought several as gifts to my 1911 aficionado friends.
I now have altogether three sets of pearlite grips from different manufactures, two of which are much older. If you are looking for a bright faux pearl that has the allure of real MOP this is the set for you. Substantial in weight and feel, beautiful blue bright in color and perfectly fit to the standard or Classic J-Frame they will no disappoint.
Nice product. Good looks, precise grip checkering and good fit to the pistol. Have not shot gun as yet but suspect they will do the job just fine on my Ruger 45LC. Meantime I am enjoying the look and feel.
My grips arrived about two weeks after ordering. The wood is beautiful, the checkering is well executed and the finish is flawless. They fit like a glove. The checkering adds a little more purchase for the hand, but doesn't grab the cover garment. These grips are well worth the price, they are extremely ergonomic and add a touch of class to any revolver.
These are beautiful grips, exactly as advertised. They look great on my Model 14-6. I have large hands and these grips feel so much better than the rubber combat grips supplied by the factory. I like to think they've improved my scores, too. Must also comment that the on-line ordering system is very smooth, and I received delivery in less than ten days, even here in Canada. On the expensive side, but good things usually are.
Nice ebony grips. I requested as solid black as possible and they delivered that. The frame fitment on my 649 is pretty precise. They look great and are the perfect size for a j frame. I wish they still offered checkered in ebony, I'd buy another set.
I had an issue with some prior wood grips from Eagle Grips. They bent over backwards to correct my problem. These Wood Grips are Stunning Yes, they are a bit pricy, but you cannot find finer quality. These beauties give your GP100 an entirely unbelievable look!!!
The new Secret Service Grips came a lot faster than I expected, they fit perfectly t my J Frame and work well with my HKS Speedloader. This is a very well made product. This company will be my first choice for any future grip purchases.
These grips were worth the wait. Finely made with quality materials - the attention to detail especially the checkering was impressive. I put em on one of my large wheelguns and as stated - the grips don’t print when concealed compared to all the other grips I have. Be prepared and patient to wait for your order but I was completely glad I was patient! Thanks Eagle Grips!
The gribs look amazing. Did have to do a little bit of fitment, but nothing major. I used a knife sharping stone to remove a bit of material. I also had to enlarge the hole for the role pin. Had them on in about 10 minutes with everything.
They come quite pricey when you need a pair but the result is very impressive. Slim gunfighter design made my Rugers way easier to handle - a must have upgrade for everyone with medium or small size wrist.
I am very happy with the look and feel of these grips. The texture should keep me in control no matter the weather. My only complaint is that these are marketed as a "slightly larger grip". I didn't notice any difference and I was really hoping for a larger grip. If it is larger, the emphasis is on "slightly".
i have found these grips to be just as or more comfortable shooting the gun than the hard plastic factory grips. wood grips usually hurts especially shooting a more powerful round such as a .44 special, but i was surprise that these handled the recoil fairly well. these grips are great for carry for light range practice. i wouldn't recommend shooting a hundred rounds though.
I bought these to replace standard plastic grips for an Officer's Model. They fit the grip studs perfectly and are exactly as pictured here (except I have an integrated plunger tube/thumb guard and extended mag release on mine). The checkering is great and the quality of the wood is excellent. I am very pleased.
Awesome product, you will not be disappointed. They fit perfectly on my wife's kimber micro 9, needless to say she fell in love with them immediately. The quality and workmanship is outstanding. I have had no problems whatsoever when using the gun, the look and feel is impecable!
Bought a set of these grips for my Virginia Dragoon 44 Mag The original grips were smooth and looked like poplar wood - Crap. These Rosewood Grips fit precisely and make the revolver look entirely different. Now it looks like a high end revolver. The checkered grips also provide a safer way to shoot that beast too! I have bought several grips from Eagle for various guns and I never have been disappointed yet! Four of my 1911's have them Very good value and superior quality! Gives the handgun a rich enhancement to its appearance!
You don't always know what a item is going to look and feel like just by looking at a picture on the website and you hope it will be satisfactory when you receive them. I must say, I am very happy with the look and feel of these grips on my Kimber.
The American Elk Grips fit my old style Ruger Vaquero perfectly with no fitting necessary. I was concerned that they would be too smooth to shoot .45 Colt, but found them to be quite comfortable without any loss of control. I would buy these for any handgun.
I love the look of these grips and everyone at the range compliments me on how cool they make my Browning 9 mm. My only comment is the fit was not quite right and I had to file one of them down to get it attached.
Very satisfied with this product. These grips provided much improved handling over the bulky factory wood grips on my 4-5/8" .45 Colt Vaquero. Miles ahead in fit and finish over the factory grips is They greatly improved both the appearance and handling of my six gun.
These are 100% original spec, with the correct slot width, which is next to impossible to find anywhere else, let alone in the nickel finish. These match well with satin nickel or satin stainless steel pistol finishes. I’d like to add that the Eagle Grips customer service / care is superb and will respond to all questions and inquiries. I’m a repeat customer for both their blued and nickel finish 1911 screws, so hopefully that alone is a strong testimonial on their exceptional qualities of material, build, fit, finish and function. Also, the grip screws come in nice “Crown Royal” type, velvet bag — a very nice touch! :)
I purchased two sets of the smooth gun fighter grips. One for my blackhawk and one for my single six. Grips are narrower than factory grips by a good margin and flare at the top which help provide a repeatable, consistent and improved grip over the factory stocks Wood was very nice and fit well. Will be purchasing additional sets in the future.
I got these for my Sig STX and all I can sasy is WOW. Perfect look and fit. Catches the light and looks iridescent-like a hummingbird feathers in sunlight. I have had other, less expensive "pearl grips" that simply do not compare to the classiness of these.
As an avid lover of everything outdoors, these grips are wonderful to have. There a few slight problems with mine as they did not fit properly. They offered to remake them as no additional cost just wanted a set of grips already on my gun to clone them. They are now the grips I have on the most.
Bought these grips for my stainless Colt Defender. Am a member of The Well Armed Woman and our color is purple. The grips are beautiful. Because I am left handed I have an ambi safety. The grips don’t accommodate the safety but my husband easily modified the grips and they fit great.
Bought two sets of these for cowboy action on my SASS ruger Vaquero's. WOW. You won't believe the difference! Easy to handle and much easier to hold onto the gun. I shoot gunfighter and black powder so I need a good grip in each hand and these work great! And they look awesome on my stainless pistols too!
I purchased these in May of 2018 and have used them at several matches. I do like them better than the factory grips and another pair of grips I had tried. The slim grips fit my medium to large hand very well. Eagle grips sold me a nice matching pair that looks authentic for my Cowboy Action matches were I shoot in the category of "duelist" and "gunfighter".
These grips are very well made. They enhance the feel of your pistol with a much better grip than original while also giving it an elegant classy look. I would definately recommend them to anyone looking.
Purchased these for a 29-10 classic series. Huge improvement over the thin stocks S&W is putting on the new N frames. Much more comfortable to shoot with full house loads. Only reason I put 4 stars is I did not realize they would come unfinished. Perhaps I didn't read the description thoroughly. Don't know. Any way I rubbed in a few coats of true oil and buffed them with fine steel wool and they are good to go.
I originally ordered the Rosewood grips but was told they were on back order so I changed to their Walnut. After some discussion with Eagle I agreed to go to Walnut ( more original ) and ordered a pair which were supposed to be 3rd gen style for my 1981 Python. Somehow I received a beautiful set of 2nd gen grips ( not period correct but still OK with me ). The fit and finish are excellent - very close to the originals but with much better grade of Walnut. The only suggestion I would make would be for Eagle to also add/include an alignment hole with pin to keep the grips from shifting when actually shooting - they tend to not align 100% when tightened too much and if you use less tension they eventually start to 'shift' when shooting. Other than that they are great looking/feeling grips. I tried a few other aftermarket grips and they were cheap looking replicas - not so with Eagle. Very high quality grips.
I love my Smith and Wesson revolvers but I hate the round butts on todays production Smith’s. My hand just needs that bigger grip for the 357 or 44 recoil. I am an a weekly shooter and if a weapon is not fun to shoot I wont own it. I bought the N frame 627 Performance Center 8 shot 357 Christmas of 2017 and it had the same anemic round butt that all new Smith’s have so I turned to Eagle grips for a solution. I bought the Heritage grips that essentially turn the round butt into a square butt revolver and whalla,,,, perfection! I have shot and carried this combo for over a year now and I can tell you both are still perfect.
I have purchased 3 sets of these grips. In my opinion, the dark rosewood most closely matches the older grips. Fit is as good as and appearance is better than the S&W originals available today. I've owned S&W's for over 50 years and these grips are about as good as it get for a reasonable price.
These grips are sick!! I was a little worried about spending the money on them but it was beyond worth it. The grips have natural divets in them that make it easy to hold on to when firing. They add a character and style to my micro 9 that makes the gun feel like one of a kind. Completely happy with the product.
These classic grips are just what I was looking for to give the look and handling of a classic. Outstanding fit and finish. After you bed these with a normal bedding material and a 7/16 dowl they are solid as a rock.
I purchased my Colt Woodsman over 12 years ago and the grips were in horrible condition. I looked for grips for a couple of years but didn't find any suitable. The Eagle Grips fit like a glove and are great looking.
These are the best grips I've found. I have a set on my 44 revolver, and on a Colt 1911. Been the best investment I've made for them. Only thing I would do different if possible, is make the grips on the revolver bigger.
Everything fit well except the screw hole in the panels did not match the hole in the frame. It was about 1/3rd of a hole mis-matched. I couldn't move the hole in the panels, so I had to enlarge the hole in the frame off to one side. All the screw does is hold the panels to the frame, not locate them on the frame, so it worked out fine. I can't say whether the hole was mis-located in the grips, or if some manufacturing change was made by Colt that caused it.
I have 4 sets of the Eagle grips for Third generation Colt Woodmans. They are high quality and handsome. As a lefty, I ordered the non-thumbrest format and they are quite comfortable to shoot with, and quite handsome. Strongly recommend these grips from Eagle.
Great looking grips, fit well and give you a good grip. .44 Maggie is not easy to handle, and the stock grips, while attractive, have checkering and a narrow back. The Eagle grips are wider, and I bought smoothies, which I find more comfortable. They were so nice I bought a set for my like-new Mod. 15.
I bought these grips to replace the factory wood slabs on a S&W Model 60 Pro Series. Despite being shooter than the factory grips, they are the most comfortable J frame grips I have ever shot. I put almost 300 rounds through the pipe at the range today, and my hands weren't fatigued, chafed or otherwise abused. These are superb grips that I would happily recommend to anyone with a J frame Smith.
Grips fit like a glove. Excellent job on checkering. Would like to see grips made on the size of the old Pachmayr presentation style. The oversize grips helped with recoil greatly. There is still a following for these that would fill a big niche for these guns. Thanks!
I was a little concerned about going from a 3-finger grip to 2, especially when firing .357. This grip proved to be fine even shooting .357. it is much better for concealment than the 3-finger rubber grip that I was using.
Beautiful pair of grips well worth the price. They fit and feel better then the original grips on my S & W Model 29-2! Will buy again for my other one. Nice to see something still made in USA instead of cheap aftermarket from China.
I ordered 2 pairs of grips. They are perfect! Fit my Rugers pefectly and I absolutely love them! The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is the wait time. It took nearly 13 weeks to get them. The staff was really nice and responsive when I called and emailed. But I am thrilled with the grips!
Love them every bit as much as my Kim Ahrends concealed carry boot grips. The Ebony wood is gorgeous on a SS gun. I did have to drill out the holes for the grip-pegs a little bit, but customer service was quick to answer my questions and even offered to have me send them back at their expense to correct the issue of I didn’t feel comfortable performing the recommended work myself. Will 100% be ordering from Eagle Grips again in the future! Thank you all!
Ordered a set of these for Wild Bunch competition. They work great. Appears to be hand checkering with nice points. Grippy and best of all, THIN. You want to be able to drop the mag with one hand without bulky grips getting in the way during competition. These work fine.
I recently acquired a near mint 1978 Python. The original grips had been lost. I contacted Eagle Grips, ordered a set in Rosewood. I was assured they'd look as good as the originals .They lied . They look far better than the originals. They are flawless perfection. I'm not a mushy kind of guy , but when I saw them I nearly cried . You see , the Python I acquired , belonged to my deceased brother.
I purchased the rosewood with reclaimed medallions. Side by side, these are very close to the originals. Pricey at $200, but $300 less than originals. These are on a "lookin' at" revolver, so I don't know how they are to shoot. When I recover from the sticker shock, I'll likely order another set in walnut.
Grips took 2 months. They took some fitting ( top flat both sides) , Took about 45 minutes working slow and careful checking fit often. They look good on my old sheriffs model stainless vaquero and I like the fit much better than the original/
I have been looking a long time for smaller grips like these and took the chance of the grips fitting my older model Charter Arms Undercover .38. (on one side of the barrel; Undercover .38 SPL. on the other Charter Arms Corp. Bridgeport, Conn.) I'm glad I did, I am well pleased with the fit and finish.
I am writing this before I actually receive my New Eagle Grips. I have ordered Grips from Eagle two times before, and I just know what an outstanding product I'll be getting. The quality of the Wood and Craftsmanship of the finished product are truly beyond compare. Whenever I upgrade any of my Handguns with new Grips, Eagle is the only place I go!!! Bud Olesen
Although they take a very long time to arrive in the mail, the wait is worth it. These grips look great on the LCR and despite what some panzys say about the .357 Magnum recoil, these grips handle just as good as the stock Hogue grip. Eagle Grips makes some nice looking stuff and any self respecting revolver owner needs wood grips.
I am very fortunate to have two sets of Sambar Stag grips from Eagle on two Ruger Vaqueros. I bought the first set about 25 years ago then the second about 7 years ago. Without a doubt these are the BEST and MOST BEAUTIFUL grips I have ever owned! They fit perfectly (no special fitting required), feel solid in my hand, and have acquired a beautiful "mellow" tone after years of use - with no wear or tear. I love Love LOVE my Sambar grips!
